That Witch Must Die

I went to church with my mom and now I’m quoting the bible.

Wish death upon the people that are stopping you from being employed.

Death upon the grandmother dancing around flames, naked and chanting “she will not enjoy her husband”

If you can’t drive, don’t have a house, have no husband – pay attention to the fact he didn’t say have no wife.

If you are suffering malaise, nightmares, loneliness, heartbreak, broke-ness,  sadness, madness, badness, drunkenness.

pray for deliverance and it will be yours, but it might cost a life, because maybe someone’s using theirs to get in the way of yours..that witch must die

My mother subscribes to the church espousing those beliefs. She’s quite fond of the man who screams them from the pulpit. Literally. he’s yelling at you.  Praying very furiously for that witch to die.

I wanted nothing to do with it.

There are problems facing people every day of their lives.Breathing is prolonging the struggle and sometimes you just want to know that you have a handle on things. That somehow you can sense the danger from where it springs and defeat it.

It’s as if the lives we lead individually are subject to forces we can’t control, that beleaguer us with uncertainty, lack, doubt, fear, insecurity, threats, insult to person, unworthiness, anger and powerlessness over it all.

Something or someone has to be responsible. Better someone else rather than oursevles right?

There is mention of a scapegoat in the bible – if i may;

 Aaron is to offer the bull for his own sin offering to make atonement for himself and his household. Then he is to take the two goats and present them before the Lord at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. He is to cast lots for the two goats – one lot for the Lord and the other for the scapegoat. Aaron shall bring the goat whose lot falls to the Lord and sacrifice it for a sin offering. But the goat chosen by lot as the scapegoat shall be presented alive before the Lord to be used for making atonement by sending it into the desert as a scapegoat (New International Version Leviticus 16:6-10)

Aaron was making atonement for his sons who were killed, because they entered the presence of the Lord rather unceremoniously and were zapped or something. Aaron had to make amends for himself and his household. The scapegoat was there so that Aaron didn’t have to go out in the desert himself to certainly die. In your stead, one of those goats.

The “witch” is a scapegoat for our own situations. Whether we personally create it, through choice and behaviors or whether it is systemically inflicted.

any ol' way - fast forward a couple of months. the yelling man is a wolf in cheap clothing.
beware the false prophets. another thing the bible says.
